An experiential and symbolic exhibition that invites reflection on food loss and waste in primary production, 'Espigolar per Transformar' highlights gleaning as a transformative, poetic, and collective act. The exhibition, curated by Virginia Angulo, approaches this structural issue through emotion and visual storytelling rather than data, seeking to move visitors toward awareness and action.
The exhibition’s introductory experience featured a procedural audiovisual piece that synthesized the themes of rural infrastructure and agricultural textures. With a visual language close to data art, and developed using TouchDesigner, the video utilized blob-tracking and generative animation techniques to reinterpret the photography of Jordi Flores into a fluid, data-art landscape.

To ensure a cohesive emotional impact, a custom soundscape and AI-synthesized narration were produced, creating a synchronized sensory environment that set the evocative tone for the journey ahead.
The closing piece 'Call to Action' featured a series of custom-engineered seven-segment digital displays that visualized the real-time impact of the Fundació Espigoladors, serving as a device of collective awareness visualising the cumulative effort of thousands of people. These devices were built from the ground up, involving the design and prototyping of custom PCBs and ESP32-based firmware.

The systems integrated live data from multiple sources—including the Foundation’s API and Google Sheets—allowing the counters to update dynamically as visitors joined the collective via QR code. Housed in handcrafted enclosures by Cayetano Truyols, the final installation acted as a living marker of volunteer force, bridging the gap between digital data and physical presence.
